In Batch 3 of their Virgin Oak Series, The GlenAllachie proudly presents a rare single malt that underwent an additional maturation process in casks crafted from Scottish Sessile Oak (Quercus Petrae), sourced from the Atlantic coast. Handling Scottish oak proves challenging throughout the entire production process, from growth and milling to coopering. Due to its rarity, costliness, and tendency to form knots, it is an infrequently chosen wood for whisky maturation.
Before being filled with whisky, the wood underwent an extensive 36-month air-drying period, followed by a medium-level toasting and charring process. Despite the inherent difficulties, this coveted oak variety imparts luxurious notes of blonde chocolate, accompanied by hints of zesty orange and velvety toffee, resulting in a truly distinctive and indulgent drinking experience.

This Ben Nevis 10-Year-Old 2012 release, curated by Milroy's, is a distinctive single malt whisky aged in a first-fill French oak Oloroso sherry hogshead, after being transferred from a refill hogshead for an enhanced maturation process. Distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2020, it boasts a robust 57.1% ABV. From cask number 1728, this particular batch yielded a limited run of only 278 bottles.

Drawing from the wine industry, the term 'Cuvée' typically refers to a blend that incorporates multiple grape varieties. Similarly, their 9-year-old Cuvée represents a harmonious marriage of spirits from several esteemed wine casks sourced from renowned regions like Bordeaux, Languedoc, and Valpolicella.
Billy meticulously monitored the character development of each individual barrique, skillfully blending the whiskies together. The resulting golden liquid reveals notes of elegant stone fruits, hints of toasted almonds, and a lively touch of zesty orange peel on the palate.
This limited expression is bottled without chill-filtration to preserve its flavor and retains its natural color, boasting an ABV of 48%. Their commitment to authenticity and delivering exceptional whisky shines through in this creation.

In the creation of Highland Park 15 Year Old Viking Heart, Gordon Motion, Highland Park's Master Whisky Maker, carefully curated a selection of predominantly sherry seasoned European oak casks to infuse warm and spicy notes. Additionally, sherry seasoned American oak casks were chosen to provide a harmonious touch of sweet vanilla. To achieve a smooth and refined flavor profile, a select few refill casks were thoughtfully integrated.
