Description

This whiskey, winner of a double gold award in San Francisco, challenges the perception of Irish whiskey. It's light and drinkable yet surprisingly complex. Aged in both American oak Bourbon barrels, which provide honey and vanilla notes, and Spanish oak Oloroso barrels, imparting dried fruit and nut flavors. The team at Glendalough personally selects Oloroso cask producers in Montilla, renowned for its PX grape, giving them greater influence over the whiskey's flavors in the Double Barrel release.

Tasting Note by Glendalough:
Nose: Rich with dark fruit, cherry, raisin, fig and Christmas pudding. Floral notes with lemongrass, citrus and a touch of nutmeg.
Palate: Sweet and smooth, with butterscotch, honey and peppercorn, dried fruit, maraschino cherries and brown sugar.
Finish: Ginger spices a touch of almond and earthiness.
