Description

Hatozaki Small Batch 12-Year-Old Umeshu Cask Finish is a meticulously crafted malt whisky created by blending premium single malts, each aged for a minimum of 12 years in American Oak casks. After this initial maturation, these malts are expertly combined and then undergo a further finishing process in bespoke barrels that previously contained high-quality Umeshu liqueur for an additional 6 months. This unpeated whisky offers a rich and fruity profile characterized by cereals, subtle iodine notes, fresh pear, apricots, and a delicate hint of malty honey. The finish is marked by the delightful sweetness of yellow plum, leaving a lasting impression.

Tasting Note by The Kaikyo Distillery:
Nose: Unpeated, delicate, floral.
Palate: It offers a balanced feel in the mouth, with an aromatic palate and floral notes.
Finish: The style is elegant and light, carrying significant depth from the malted barley.
