Glenmorangie Grand Vintage 1996

The Glenmorangie Grand Vintage 1996 is a luxurious Highland single malt that underwent a meticulous maturation process in custom-made casks for a remarkable 23 years before its bottling in 2019. Its aromatic profile is characterized by a delightful interplay of sweet and floral notes, with hints of roses, carnations, coriander, as well as vibrant scents of orange, pear, and creamy vanilla gracing the nose. On the palate, this exceptional whisky unfolds with flavors of zesty oranges and lemons, complemented by the richness of vanilla fudge, the warmth of ground ginger and cinnamon, a touch of oak spice, and a subtle undercurrent of marzipan.

Tasting Note by Glenmorangie:
Nose: Warm baking spices, cinnamon, custard, toffee, and vanilla are present in this sumptuous aroma. It tastes like a Portuguese breakfast, complete with custard tarts and a tinge of espresso.
Palate: Extremely smooth and creamy, with notes of dark chocolate, coffee, salted caramel, and fresh peach and pears, similar to a supercharged 10 Year Old. But it's not all sweet and smooth; menthol and aromatic tobacco undertones can also be detected.
Finish: Vanilla, cinnamon, almond, and that flimsy fragrant herbal note are all present along with a lengthy, lingering custard flavour.
