The English Smokey is a peated single malt whisky aged to perfection in specially selected casks. One of the most opulent whiskies to grace the market in 2021, this particular expression was distilled at the Tsunuki Distillery before being transported to the enchanting island of Yakushima in southern Japan for its maturation. Exhibiting a seemingly accelerated aging process, it caters to connoisseurs who appreciate bold, robust flavors, delivering an immensely satisfying experience.
Tasting Note by Tsunuki:Cut grass and crème brulee, with some pineapple and Mirabelle plum on the nose, with just a touch of malted barley. Honey, vanilla and chocolate éclair on the palate, with some candied lemon. Some sweet spice on the finish, with coconut and aniseed.
Unfortunately I can't review the whisky itself, as it joins my collection. However, I can't fault the quality service by JPHA. Especially as I got it at such a good price. I'll be keeping an eye on this online shop.

Color me impressed with Willett Family Estate 4 Year Rye – it’s fantastic. It’s a very interesting, dense, and unique rye that hits all the right rye whiskey notes for me yet adds a unique twist with added lemon, fennel, caraway seed, and general darkness.

Flavours which burst on your tongue
This Malt slowly erupts on your taste buds giving you a smooth yet vibrant flavour of sweet Sherry and an after taste of Oloroso, with a hint of oak.
Its dark colour gives it a warm feel. Personally I prefer it at room temperature without either water or ice.
