To curate this harmonious blend, the classic Arran Single Malt is aged in oak casks for eight years before undergoing a 'finishing' process in select Sauternes wine casks. Chosen with precision by their Master Distiller, these Bordeaux sweet white wine casks are sourced from a skilled boutique producer, ensuring a flawless union of wine and whisky flavors.
Tasting Note by Arran:Nose: Honey sweetness and citrus.Palate: Richly honeyed and backed with a lifting zestiness which slides into spice and zingy salt. Once the dram opens out, vanilla and sultana stand out followed by notes of toasted oak.Finish: Sweetness, Honey, Apricots, Melon, Honeysuckle.
Aged for a remarkable eighteen years within American White Oak ex-bourbon barrels, this whisky is further elevated by the infusion of exceptional Premier Grand Cru Classé Bordeaux red wine barriques sourced from the South of France. The outcome is an exceedingly opulent and fruity whisky, boasting notes of cooked raspberries, inviting spice, lavish caramel, and creamy custard.
Tasting Note by Jura:Nose: Bold red fruits, toffee, crème anglaise and cinnamon.Palate: Warm spice and rich black forest fruit, bolstered by cooked raspberries and strawberries and a hint of chocolate.
In their whisky-making process, the distillery opts for the finest virgin French oak casks.
A journey of maturation begins in American White Oak ex-bourbon casks before a portion of the whisky is transferred into six different virgin oak casks sourced from various regions in France.
The outcome is a whisky known for its fruity and spicy qualities, with distinct flavors including crème caramel, baked peach, and sweet liquorice.
Tasting Note by Jura:Nose: An aromatic fusion of coffee, ginger spice and a hint of milk chocolate.Palate: Crème caramel, baked peach, liquorice and candied orange.
Unfortunately I can't review the whisky itself, as it joins my collection. However, I can't fault the quality service by JPHA. Especially as I got it at such a good price. I'll be keeping an eye on this online shop.

Color me impressed with Willett Family Estate 4 Year Rye – it’s fantastic. It’s a very interesting, dense, and unique rye that hits all the right rye whiskey notes for me yet adds a unique twist with added lemon, fennel, caraway seed, and general darkness.

Flavours which burst on your tongue
This Malt slowly erupts on your taste buds giving you a smooth yet vibrant flavour of sweet Sherry and an after taste of Oloroso, with a hint of oak.
Its dark colour gives it a warm feel. Personally I prefer it at room temperature without either water or ice.
