    Description

The Glenturret 12 Years Old stands as the centerpiece of their range, meticulously crafted from fewer than sixty carefully selected casks. This whisky, painstakingly created by hand, forms the heart of their offerings. American oak hogshead casks contribute a dessert-like sweetness, while European oak layers in dried fruits and spices, resulting in a full-bodied and rich single malt.

    Tasting Note by Glenturret:
CARAMELISED APPLES, creamy soft VANILLA CUSTARD. FRUIT PIE with a CINNAMON glaze topped with a drizzle of CARAMEL. Maturing oak introduces itself much later.

Glenturret Distillery: Scotland's Oldest and Most Endearing Gem

Glenturret Distillery, steeped in history and nestled in the captivating landscapes of the Scottish Highlands, holds the distinction of being Scotland's oldest working distillery, with roots dating back to 1775. The distillery's legacy is a testament to the enduring craftsmanship of Scotch whisky production. Glenturret whiskies are known for their traditional and robust character, with a notable emphasis on rich maltiness and honeyed sweetness. The distillery takes pride in its small-batch production process, using traditional copper pot stills and local water sources, which add to the authenticity of its whiskies. Each sip of Glenturret whisky offers a taste of history and a glimpse into the heart and soul of Scotland's whisky heritage.

The Unique Handcrafted Tradition of Glenturret Distillery

What sets Glenturret Distillery apart and makes it truly unique is its dedication to handcrafted tradition. As one of the few distilleries that still employs floor malting, Glenturret honors the labor-intensive process of germinating barley on the floor of the malting house. This hands-on approach to malting preserves a sense of authenticity and adds a distinctive character to the whisky. Additionally, the distillery's small-batch production method, along with the use of traditional copper pot stills, allows for close attention to detail and the preservation of time-honored techniques. The pristine water source from the Turret Burn contributes to the purity of the spirit, ensuring a clean and unadulterated flavor profile. Glenturret's commitment to preserving its historic heritage and traditional craftsmanship shines through in each bottle, making it a cherished and endearing gem among whisky enthusiasts who seek a taste of Scotland's rich whisky legacy.
